Who We Are

CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM OF NEW JERSEY (CIAP) is a non-profit trusteeship created to provide construction education, scholarships and research; improvement and standardization of public-sector contracts and technical specifications; and public relations and promotion of the industry within New Jersey.

CIAP is supported by these industry associations:



These Association members build, reconstruct, and maintain roads, bridges, tunnels, dams, utilities, and other infrastructure of our communities and state.


In addition, support from our membership is provided to the following advisory committees for Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Technology:

  • New Jersey Institute of Technology
  • Fairleigh Dickinson University
  • The College of New Jersey
  • County Colleges of: Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Ocean and Union

Our Mission

CIAP's mission is to develop, encourage and provide its supporting associations, UTCA, ACCNJ and NJAPA, with construction-related programs designed for the benefit of their members, including:

  • Promote New Jersey's construction industry and construction careers
  • Enhance public image and industry relations
  • Provide support and a spectrum of construction-related educational activities
  • Improve and standardize public sector contracts and technical specifications
  • Conduct construction-related research
