About CIAP of NJ

CIAP of New Jersey is a non-profit trusteeship established by the New Jersey Asphalt Pavement Association (NJAPA), Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) and the Associated General Contractors of New Jersey (AGC of NJ)

These Association members build, reconstruct, and maintain roads, bridges, tunnels, dams, utilities, and other infrastructure of our communities and state.

Our Mission

Industry Cooperation and Coordination
Our mission is to develop, encourage and provide with AGC of NJ, NJAPA, UTCA of NJ and other construction-related associations programs to: to:
  • Promote the New Jersey Construction Industry and construction careers
  • Enhance public image and industry relations
  • Provide support and a spectrum of construction-related educational activities
  • Improve and standardize public sector contracts and technical specifications
  • Conduct construction-related research.
Construction-Related Endeavors

Educational Activities

  • Conduct seminars on topics to enhance the performance of the industry.
  • Provide scholarships and stipends for students pursuing careers in the heavy, highway or utility construction industry.
  • YTTW Program

Public Awareness, Information and Education

  • Provide information to the general public on the contributions the construction industry makes to the quality of their lives, focusing on infrastructure and the economy.

Legal Actions

  • Legal Counsel presenting AMICUS CURIAE briefs in significant litigation affecting the NJ construction industry.
  • Legal Counsel to the industry on matters of particular import

Staff Support

  • Staff assistance and an office location for the Professional Engineers in Construction (PEC), a practice division of the NJ Society of Professional Engineers.
  • Staff assistance and an office location for the NJ Civil Engineering Technology Advisory Council (CETAC)
  • Membership and support for various task forces, working groups and committees such as the CIAP/NJDOT Construction Committee, New Jersey Quality Initiative (NJQI) Council, and the NJQI Interagency Committee
